Zavar? Tervezd át! Exhibition Identity

The SOCIETY OF HUNGARIAN GRAPHIC DESIGNERS AND TYPOGRAPHERS (MATT) – was running its 2009 international graphic design competition. The title is “Annoying? Redesign it!” Everything imaginable found in Hungary can be redesigned: well-known logos, signage systems, passports, money, identity cards, magazines, shop graphics, street signs, tax forms etc. The awards ceremony took place at Design Terminal, Budapest. My goal was to develop a series of abstract forms I can easily play with on different mediums: small invitation cards, on huge billboards, etc. I wanted to shout in fellow designers’ face, too.

Additionally, in order to rise the number of participants and visitors I realized it is not enough to make a promotional microsite for the competition. I made interviews with selected designers and non-designers around the Globe who has ideas how to improve the overall quality of Hungarian design and visual communications. I am uploading the interviews continously to make them available for the wide public.
